This breadth of experience equips me to effectively navigate diverse challenges and drive success in our operations.
Safety
I have had the honor of guiding our teams for many years, during which we have maintained an exemplary safety record, over almost two decades. This achievement underscores our unwavering dedication to fostering a culture of safety and well-being. Additionally, I took proactive steps to enhance safety measures by establishing a district safety council.

By recognizing and leveraging the unique talents of each team member, I fostered a collaborative environment that encouraged innovation and excellence in service delivery. This approach boosted team morale and productivity, resulting in tangible benefits for our organization.

PC697
I joined the Sunbelt team in 2005 at PC 697, a Lowes location situated in Panama City, Florida. Beginning as an Equipment Rental Specialist (ERS), Mechanic, and Delivery Driver, typical roles within a Lowes establishment, I swiftly advanced to the position of manager at this location in 2006. Together with my team, we placed a strong emphasis on safety, sales, and service. With our closest support store located in Niceville and lacking a Tallahassee presence at the time, we forged a robust partnership to bolster the sales efforts of the Niceville team while simultaneously expanding our walk-in customer base. This collaborative effort eventually culminated in the successful launch of a full-size location, PC 269, in the market.
PC268
While I served as manager at PC 268 from 2007 to 2020, significant changes occurred under my leadership. These included a shop remodel, showroom overhaul, and a substantial increase in fleet size from 6 million to 18 million. Moreover, we expanded our operations into the Tallahassee market, which was previously serviced by Niceville, also introducing a full-size location, PC 269, to the Panama City market. These adjustments were instrumental in enhancing our operational capabilities and expanding our market presence, reflecting our commitment to continuous improvement and strategic expansion.
PC269
As the markets expanded, we transitioned the Lowes location PC 697 into a full-size store, effectively establishing a greenfield presence in Panama City. Collaborating closely with Scott Miller and our real estate team, we diligently searched for a property and building that aligned with stringent criteria encompassing budget constraints, headcount requirements, and fleet expansion goals. Through meticulous planning and execution, we successfully opened the new location within the allocated budget and timeframe. This achievement stands as a testament to our commitment to operational efficiency and strategic growth.
PC269
Returning to PC 269 in 2020 presented a revitalized opportunity to further expand our market presence. During this period, our team achieved remarkable ROI improvement, increasing from 14% to an impressive 25% within just 17 months. With a dedicated and skilled team in place, we have successfully captured upwards of 25% market share in our area, despite facing fleet constraints. This growth underscores our resilience and strategic approach to market expansion, positioning us for continued success in the future.
My Professional Journey
My top priorities include emphasizing the importance of family, striving to achieve a balance between work life and family commitments, and cultivating a diverse team that embodies values encompassing culture, community, career growth, and effective communication. By building such a team, we not only foster a supportive environment but also enhance overall satisfaction and productivity in the workplace. Recognizing and respecting the diverse backgrounds and priorities of our team members allows us to create a work environment where everyone feels valued, motivated, and empowered to contribute their best. This commitment to holistic well-being and inclusivity is essential for the long-term success and fulfillment of both our team members and the organization as a whole.
Creative management involves a combination of innovative thinking, strategic planning, and effective leadership. Here are five key creative management skills:
Adaptability: Creative managers need to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, whether it’s market trends, technological advancements, or internal dynamics. Being open to new ideas and approaches allows them to navigate uncertainties and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Problem-Solving: Creative managers excel at problem-solving by thinking outside the box and finding unconventional solutions to complex challenges. They encourage their team members to approach problems creatively and foster a culture of experimentation and innovation.
Empathy: Understanding the perspectives and feelings of team members is crucial for creative management. Empathetic leaders can build strong relationships, resolve conflicts effectively, and create a supportive work environment where everyone feels valued and motivated to contribute.
Risk-taking: Creative managers are willing to take calculated risks to drive innovation and growth. They encourage experimentation and accept that failure is a natural part of the creative process. By embracing risk-taking, they inspire their team members to push boundaries and explore new possibilities.
Visionary Leadership: Creative managers have a clear vision for the future of their team or organization and inspire others to share that vision. They communicate their goals effectively, provide direction and guidance, and empower team members to pursue innovative ideas that align with the overarching vision.
These creative management skills enable leaders to adapt to change, solve problems creatively, build strong relationships, take calculated risks, and inspire others to achieve their full potential.

My Achievements
My achievements reflect a dedication to excellence, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a passion for driving results.
Family & Community
Bridgett and I are proud parents to our four-year-old son, Grayson Miller, and our beloved seven-year-old standard poodle. Bridgett’s dedication to education shines as she enters her 17th year in the field, now in her seventh year as a school administrator. Our family thrives on community involvement, actively engaging in non-profit organizations, church activities, and local politics. We find joy in residing in our hometown, Panama City Beach, where we were both born.
In 2020, I had the honor of being chosen and appointed by the Mayor of Panama City Beach to serve on the Panama City Beach Economic Development Board. Our mission was to develop compelling content and presentations for trade shows aimed at attracting employers, merchants, and large-scale tourist attractions to our city. Setting ambitious goals, we focused on initiatives such as Top Golf, Dolly Wood Pirate Voyage Dinner Theatre, Duplin Winery, and two significant manufacturing projects. Since our efforts began, these projects have not only been announced but have also broken ground in Panama City Beach.

Special Projects
During my professional journey, I’ve frequently been called upon to support special initiatives or projects.
- Successfully orchestrated the launch of PC269 while simultaneously overseeing operations at PC268. Led the successful introduction of the new PC, expanding market presence, conducting new hire training, all while ensuring the sustained growth and development of PC268. Achieved exceptional audit scores (85+) at both locations, maintaining this standard over two years. Additionally, strategized for fleet growth and managed various aspects of the business.
- Twice a year, Arborgen presents a logistical challenge where we coordinate the delivery of over 80 manlifts to a project location that’s a two-hour drive from our store. Our team meticulously plans and executes the entire process, from servicing the lifts to arranging inbound and outbound shipping. With precision and attention to detail, we flawlessly receive the lifts, organize hauling after the project concludes, and ensure there are no billing or logistical hiccups throughout the entire operation. This complex orchestration is carried out seamlessly, without any issues, each time Arborgen occurs.
- As part of operations support at the Blue Oval project, I’ve contributed to the success of this mega project on two separate occasions. During my initial stint, both the manager and OSR were on vacation, and their responsibilities were delegated to me. Despite this, no issues were left unattended, and we efficiently assisted our customers on site throughout the week. Subsequently, following my last trip, I was tasked with creating a basic business plan.
Growth Across all teams managed
Implemented comprehensive employee development programs aimed at enhancing skills and fostering professional growth within our store, district, and company. Notable promotions include John Sword to Operational Manager, Jason Wooten to Operations Manager, Penny Forster to PCM, Troy Mixon to OSR, Josh Shaw to OSR, Dan Brechtel to Government Representative, Drew Yeager to Jumpstart, and many others who have advanced within our organization. These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to investing in our team members and providing opportunities for advancement and career progression
Diversified Team Oriented Work Environment
My goal is to consistently cultivate a team-oriented, diverse, and multicultural work environment. At PC 269, our team comprises individuals from various backgrounds, and we take pride in our diversity. We are honored to have a military veteran as part of our team, contributing unique perspectives and experiences. By embracing and celebrating our differences, we foster a collaborative atmosphere where every team member feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best. This inclusive approach not only enriches our work environment but also enhances our collective ability to innovate and succeed.
